Present Simple

For repeated or regular actoins we use verbs in Present Simple.

I go to school every day.

You usually do your homework after lunch.

They play basketball on Saturdays.

Para acciones repetidas o habituales se usan verbos en Presente Simple

Yo voy al colegio todos los días.

Tú normalmente haces los deberes después de comer

Ellos juegan al baloncesto los sábados.

The verb doesn't change its form except if we speak about he, she or it (an object or an animal)

La forma del verbo no cambia excepto cuando nos referimos a él, ella o ello (un objeto o animal).

In affirmative sentences an "s" is added.

He works in a hospital (Él trabaja en un hospital)

En las oraciones afirmativas se añade una "s"

He works in a hospital (Él trabaja en un hospital)

In negative sentences, the auxiliary form "does" goes with the negative form "not", doesn't, and the "s" comes no longer after the verb.

En las oraciones negativas se pone la forma auxiliar "does" con la negación "not" , "doesn't" y ya no se pone la "s" después del verbo.

She doesn't work in a hospital. (Ella no trabaja en un hospital)

In interrogative sentences (questions) the auxiliary form "does" goes at the beginning of the sentence and the "s" comes no longer after the verb.

 

En las oraciones interrogativas (las preguntas) el auxiliar "does" va al principio y ya no se pone la "s" después del verbo. 

Does he work in a hospital? Yes, he does.

Does she work in a hospital? No, she doesn't.

In English, we need the subject (I, you, he, she...) the verb to be (am, are, is...) and the actoin verb plus the ending -ing.
